Peppers favorite time of day

My sun lounger. The kids so conveniently left a fluffy blanket for our pig in her favorite afternoon spot. Such a cutie. I snapped this picture while I was jogging around her during a workout. Don't move on my account.

Clean pen

Pepper loves making a mess with her litter. Pine shavings everywhere. This is clean. When I wake up in 5 hours I am sure it will be a mess again.

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Sprinkle of Salt

Used the elmers glue with salt and re-inkers method. Info for this challenge can be seen on Nichols Heady's blog for Papertrey Ink. The effect the salt gives on this stamp set reminds me of when I was little I would use colored dried pasta or beans to decorate pictures. Love it, gives it texture and and earthy feeling such I think is perfect for  a Thanksgiving card. I used PTI Basket of Blessings stamp set.

So this is the end of Stamp-a-faire projects. I had to work the day of the challenge so I am adding these a little late to the game. Didn't get all the cards done but here is a picture of the ones I did get done.

Stamp-a-faire 2013: Whipping up Scent-sational cards

For this challenge we had to make scented embossing powder. I mixed clear embossing powder with pumpkin pie spice. I stamped the pumpkin in SU pumpkin Pie ink and then restamped with versamark and embossed with my pumpkin pie scented powder. Stamp sets are all PTI, Spooky Treats, Mat stack 4 and Mums the word (for the leaves).

August 2013 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop challenge

I tried my hand at the first challenge set. I saw a flower on the paperytrey website the was featured on a card in the ribbon section of the site. I searched every release sneak peek and preview on Nichols Heady's blog to find put how she did it. I found it...so I tried to recreate that flower on my card using the two dies she used. The leaf vine die and flower fusion #4. I wanted a two tone flower so used melon berry and red poppy with spring moss leaves. I used a stamp in the new autumn pattern pieces to make the lines using melon berry , spring miss, lemon tart. Added a sentiment from stamp set  shapes by design to a kraft paper paper with ribbon notch.

August 2013 Paperyrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge

I made this card for the blog hop. I used the Mum's the Word stamp and die set. I cut the mums out of Hawaiian shores paper and inked the image with Stampin Up Pacific Point (replacement for enchanted evening color). I die cut the leaves out of simply chartreuse and stamped in same color. The base of the card is Stampin up Lovely Lilac (replacement for plum pudding). Added a birthday sentiment from mums the Word in SU night of navy (replacement for royal velvet) stamped on white cardstock and notched the end. Finished with a strip of simply chartreuse and night of navy paper and clear rhinestones for flower centers. I really love the colors in this.

Freshly made sketches 99

So this one was a bit of a challenge. I can never figure out what to do with my circles when I have sketches like this. So I started with paper color choices and came across the patterned paper that reminded me of honeycomb. So then I decided to play with my Bee stamps from Papertrey Ink. I added some glitter to the wings of the bee to make them iridescent. I then stamped some flowers in versamark on the aqua card base. Pretty happy how it turned out considering I made most of this card in the dark since the power went out at my house. Ha ha, there could be a challange idea.. cards in the dark. LOL!

Make it Monday #129: white crayon resist

This week's make it Monday challenge on Nichole Heady's blog for Papertrey Ink is white crayon resist. My daughter must like white crayons because I couldn't find one but I did find a clear crayon from last years Easter egg dye set. So I inked the open leaf tree top with chocolate ink , then using the resist technique I colored the open leaf images with the clear crayon. Also did this for the falling leaves. I sponged blue, green and summer sunrise on the white cardstock and over image. Added some fun paper details, brads and sentiment.

Freshly made sketches 98, Dynamic Duos #65

Today I combined the Dynamic Duos color challenge with the freshly made sketches challenge. I made my card rectangular instead of square. I didn't have the exact stampin up colors for the color challenge so I used an old stampin up mint color and melon berry from PTI. I also wanted to play around with clear cardstock from Papertrey Ink (PTI). This is what I came up with.

Here are the challenges. Click on picture for link.

I won a honorable mention! Thank you.

Seize the sketch #1

I came across another blog with sketch challenges and I really liked the sketch, so thought I would give it a try. I decided to utilize the shaker and movers dies from Papertrey Ink and incorporate it into the card sketch. So the star moves along the space and I stamped a fun birthday sentiment inside the track area. Fun card to make.

Here is the sketch.

DD #64 challenge

So I stumbled across this fun site when blog hopping. Thought I would participate. I love card challenges, that is one of the only ways I can get creative with card making sometimes. Gives me a platform to start from. So this is my creation for this color combo. I don't have the new Stampin up colors so improvised with apricot and ruby red. I used the rock n roll stamping method for the hearts. Stamping them in two different colors. This card is a small square sized card. I wanted the sentiment to be the main focus.

Seat stealer strikes again

Pepper the couch seat stealer. My husband must arrange the pillows to her liking.

Make it Monday #128: stamping random background patterns

Today I used PTI Little lady stamp set , an oldie but a goodie.  I used the different sized flowers in the set to randomly stamp a pattern for the background using melon berry, ocean tides, new canvas and pure poppy. The top white panel is cut short to let the back stone color show through and to add some dimension. Got my color combo inspiration from pinterest, love the ideas on that site.
