Make it Monday #174 Diamond wallpaper stamping

For this challenge I used the straight line stamp from Kid Kudos and made a diamond pattern with it in Smokey Shadow ink. I used a ruler to make pencil lines to follow with my line stamp to line it up. I then stamped the medium sized damask image from Damask Designs in every other triangle with New Canvas ink. The other triangles I stamped the small Fleur de lis stamp from Damask designs stamp set. I then brushed perfect pearls in gold irridencent over the Damask Design images, wanted a shimmery subtle damask design to the "wallpaper". Used a gold paint pen to make the dots at the intersection of the lines, kind of gave it a quilted look. I finished with a center panel cut from nestibilities and stamped my sentiment using Fresh Snow ink , image from Stylish Sentiments : Birthday .  Finished with a Smokey Shadow bow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Make it Monday #173 : no Outline Watercolor

I had fun with my new splash inks from Papertrey Ink purchase with this challenge. Those inks allow so many color combos. I used the Father Knows Best stamp set from PTI.  Thanks for looking.

Make it Monday #172 Rainbow Medallions

I have been out of the card making circuit for a while so I thought this would be a great challenge to get my card making feet wet again. It was difficult for me to get my colors coordinated right so I made a little chart, that helped a ton, I used the pea pod stamp from Baby Button Bits stamp set from PTI. I always like rainbow colors paired with dark colors. I used Smokey Shadow PTI paper to pop the background and center of what turned into a flower as the main image. enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Make it Monday #131: striped embossing

For this challenge we needed to use striped embossing powder. I don't have many colors so used red and black only. I stamped the mums from PTI Mum's the word on the black cardstock with versamark and heat embossed white and red embossing powders. I stamped the thank you sentiment from PTI Basket of blessings set on vellum cardstock and did the striped embossing technique. I sewed the edge with red embroidery floss.

Make it Monday #129: white crayon resist

This week's make it Monday challenge on Nichole Heady's blog for Papertrey Ink is white crayon resist. My daughter must like white crayons because I couldn't find one but I did find a clear crayon from last years Easter egg dye set. So I inked the open leaf tree top with chocolate ink , then using the resist technique I colored the open leaf images with the clear crayon. Also did this for the falling leaves. I sponged blue, green and summer sunrise on the white cardstock and over image. Added some fun paper details, brads and sentiment.

Make it Monday #128: stamping random background patterns

Today I used PTI Little lady stamp set , an oldie but a goodie.  I used the different sized flowers in the set to randomly stamp a pattern for the background using melon berry, ocean tides, new canvas and pure poppy. The top white panel is cut short to let the back stone color show through and to add some dimension. Got my color combo inspiration from pinterest, love the ideas on that site.

MIM #127 Double Backgrounds

Today's card is for the MIM challenge. I stamped two different images in Hawaiian shores ink on white cardstock. The first image was three off set lines from Mod Squad set. The second image was the curved medallion looking image from background basics retro set. Used lovely layers set and dies to make the flower. Sentiment from In Bloom. Added silver sequins to add some sparkle. To me the background reminds me of rain behind a fun little old fashioned window. So the sparkles are like little rain drops. The color combo is from summer card camp 2 additional colors from wrap it up day. It is the combo in upper right hand corner.

Summer card camp 2: week 3 day 1, color combo and sketch. MIM #126 3D Die Cut Sentiments

Today I used the 3rd sketch from SCC2 and the color combo. I also incorporated this week's Make it Monday from Nichole Heady. I do not have any sentiment dies so I used the XOXO border dies from PTI and used a slightly darker copic marker to make the shadow lines.

Summer card camp 2: week 2 day 1 , circle card & MIM #125 Defined Watercolors card

Today is day one of week 2 of card camp. Today I chose the circle card tutorial and am combining it with the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday technique of defined watercolors. Using the color combo and sketch from card camp. I used stampin up Buckaroo Blue, PTI dark chocolate, PTI simply chartreuse and PTI ripe avocado ink. The stamp image is PTI spiral bouquet. To make the defined watercolor image I borrowed my daughter's watercolor paints and painted on the stamp, before stamping I spritzed with a little water to smudge it a little more. Then I took the coordinating image and stamped just the edges to define the water color image. I love how it turned out.

Summer card camp 2: week 1 day 1 & MIM Embellished Envelope

Today is the first day of summer card camp 2. Today we were given colors and sketches to focus on for this week. For this card I used one of my favorite Papertrey Ink (PTI) sets and dies called Love Potion. I also used PTI Faux Ribbon for the dots underneath the sentiment.

I also used this card for MIM challenge this week. I decorated the envelope to match and added a candy heart dimensional accent to embellish it a bit more.

MIM #123 Making your own paint

This card is for the Make it Monday challenge for Papertrey ink and I also incorporated the Pre Class challenge 1 for the Summer card camp 2.
I mixed Stampin up cranberry crisp re-inker with white acrylic paint to get a color close to my peachy colored paper.
I used a paintbrush and applied a thin layer of the paint to the heart stamp and stamped it on white paper.
In love with this color combo for the summer camp challenge.

MIM #122 Polka Dot Texture with Copic Markers

This is my submission for this week's Make it Monday challenge which can be found here.

I love polka dots so this looked like a lot of fun.
I used the Copic markers in various colors of brown to make dotted shading to mimic the natural dotting on a deer's hide. I love this deer image in this set.

MIM Colored Vellum Flowers

If you know me, you know I love to make cards. I have been so busy lately that I have been away from it for about a year. I am slowly getting back into it. Boy, do you lose creative mojo when not practicing. Well, one of my favorite blogs to go to for inspirations is Nichole Heady's blog.
Nichole is so talented and really gets me inspired. She has a fabulous stamp/ink/paper/goodies line that I adore called Papertrey ink.
So every Monday on her blog she does a Make it Monday tutorial and we can link our cards to win some fun things. It also allows all of us that follow her blog to see what each other make and get even more inspiration. Last MIM challenge was colored vellum flowers. This is what I came up with.

I used the large flower from Friends 'Til the End stamp set. I stamped the image using versamark ink on vellum paper. I did not have plain vellum, so mine actually has some gold flecks in it that also show through the coloring. I then heat set the image in gold embossing powder. I then carefully cut out the image and colored on the vellum using these colored inks from the Papertrey ink line using a q-tip. I used a bright orange from Stampin Up as well to fill in the center of the flower.

I used Papertrey Ink's select white cardstock and cut a piece of Pure Poppy cardstock to fit and layer at the bottom. Before attaching the Pure Poppy cardstock I made vertical lines in it to add some texture.
Stamped the sentiment image in True Black ink and tied with a black satin ribbon from my stash.
